SIERRA Homeworld 2 (Windows)

SIERRA Homeworld 2 (Windows) Review

I recently purchased this game again--having lost my first copy--and played through it. I had a blast. It is well-balanced, a gorgeous game even in comparison to games made today, and a very original setting.

The only criticism I have for this game is that the campaign was fascinating, but not involving. The reason for that is in the characters you are introduced to. You're sort of just thrown in with Karaan and the other Higaarans and I never really cared whether they won or lost, except that of course I had to win. So the brilliant setting could have come to life a lot more if the characters had been more personal, if the player had some stake in the story...

SIERRA Homeworld 2 (Windows) Feature

  • Command the Mothership on a new journey, as its passengers travel to meet a new foe and learn more secrets about their exile
  • Innovative new 3D engine and stunning special effects as you command the armada around including giant asteroids, massive derelicts, gas clouds, and nebulae light years across
  • Avoid the dangers of space and maneuver into combat formations as you come under attack
  • Use the abilities of new ships like the flak corvette and the marine frigate for new tactical choices
Homeworld 2 is your chance to lead the Hiigarans in the epic struggles they face to ensure their survival! Amazing new multiplayer modes for six-person multiplayer through a LAN or Internet connection

Some good, some bad, making it average - Zarock - NZ
From what I remember of playing this game some years back it was pretty OK for its time. The graphics, interface, and cut scenes were good and the game play was not too bad either.

I never actually finished it because in order to make it harder more and more enemy units were thrown at you and it got to the point in one mission (which i never completed) I had a constant stream of enemies coming at me from all corners of the map which was just overwhelming and stupid.
